Discovering Myself
Life is a journey throughout which individuals are ceaselessly pursuing the answer to life’s ultimate question - who am I. This lifelong discovery significantly contributes to one’s self-development. Aristotle said, “knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” In kindergartens, where the wisdom of young souls starts to develop, shouldn’t we encourage the children to discover themselves more?
By reading developmental psychology theories, I found that four essential activities contribute to children’s self-discovery. They are interpersonal activities, self-reflection, forming intimate relationships, experiencing failures and conflicts.
So, this kindergarten aims to provide enticing spaces that contribute to the occurrence of these four activities.
